New OC Restaurants: What to look forward to in 2019

November 26th, 2018

A new year is upon us and that means a lot of things. A fresh start and tons to look forward to. That includes some new OC restaurants that have just or are about to, open up near Baker Block.

OC Restaurants in Huntington Beach: Slater’s 50/50

First up is Slater’s 50/50 over in Huntington Beach that opened up in August. Located at 17071 Beach Blvd., this burger joint has some excellent gourmet burgers with an emphasis on bacon. Also, if you are looking for a more unique burger, this is the spot. Take for instance their burger toppings such as strawberry jelly. If you are not in the mood for a burger, they also serve wings, pasta, sandwiches, and speciality milkshakes and cocktails. Best of all, they have two happy hours and just updated their menu! Some of their highlighted dishes are their vampire dip and mac and cheese balls with bacon ketchup. Also, you have the opportunity to build your own custom burger. Doesn’t get more creative than that, does it?

OC Restaurants in Irvine

Sajj Mediterranean

Up next is Sajj Mediterranean which just opened up this month! Located at 6636 Irvine Center Drive, Sajj Mediterranean is serving up some mean falafels. Similar to Slater’s, Sajj has some interesting dishes like their pomegranate chicken. They also have some fantastic, traditional Mediterranean dishes like their hummus and pita or grilled eggplant. Do know they are quite busy so feel free to order for take-out.

VaKA Burger

Finally, we have another burger spot over in Irvine. Titled Vaka Burger, you can expect to chow down here this coming Spring. VaKA Burger initially was a food truck but now has tons of locations, and the OC couldn’t be happier to be one of them. As far as their menu goes, their dirty fries with feta are incredible and so is their Brie Burger with white truffle oil.

As you can see, there is tons to look forward to both within the last month of 2018 and this coming year. That especially goes for Orange County restaurants. Enjoy!
