Holiday Fun at The LAB in Costa Mesa: PART I

Happy December everyone! It is officially Christmas, or at least it should be. Seeing as how the holidays typically begin early on, we thought it was best to dedicate the next two weeks to giving you the best of the best in holiday fun right near Baker Block. This week, we will be talking about The LAB Anti-Mall. The LAB can be found at 2930 Bristol Street. It is open every day of the week from 10 AM to 9 PM, except on Friday’s and Saturday’s when it is open until 10 PM.

The Usual Fun

It should definitely be mentioned that The LAB Anti-Mall is one of our favorite spots to head over to on the regular. During any time of the year, you will find all sorts of cool events. For instance, this past week they just introduced Stereo Box live pop-up music sessions. In partnership with the radio station KUCI, they have converted their gallery into a space that invites the community to be a part of a unique music experience. So, if you are a musician looking for support or just a music lover, definitely be on the lookout for these cool live jam sessions.

Additionally, you have loads of places to shop and cool spots to relax or take photos. Just recently, The LAB hosted the Inside Out Project. Created by artist JR, this unique portrait of American immigrants expands across the side of The LAB as well as other places around the world, to help increase awareness about DACA. So head on over and take your photo with this beautiful piece of work. Also, if you are looking for more cool photo spots, visit the photobooth fun house, Facade Funhouse.

Holiday Fun at the LAB

As far as the holidays are concerned, you can be sure that Santa Claus will be stopping by The LAB. You and your family will find him hanging around for pictures and high fives starting December 2nd from 10 AM to 3 PM. As mentioned before, The LAB is a great place to shop, for gifts especially. Some of the best goodies you can find there are men’s products from Crew Salon, mugs, shoes, and glasses from Buffalo Exchange, Little Penguin Shop, as well as Eye Society. They even have Creme Tangerine, a record store, perfect to shop for vinyl for the music lover in your life.

 

Whether it is just to hang and enjoy the view or to find gifts to stuff your stockings to the brim, head on over to The LAB Anti-Mall. You are sure to have a grand ole time.
